Riassunto (**l’intervento sarà in italiano):

Traditionally, Creative Arts Therapy tools have been used to help patients recovering from a variety of mental and emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, grief or trauma. However, in recent years, research has shown that bringing art therapy in the classroom can promote self-awareness, attention, problem-solving skills, while also enhancing mindfulness and a more relaxed and inclusive approach to education.
Indeed, through different creative tasks students gain a sense of control and learn to tackle learning anxiety, stress, lack of motivation or even grief, behavioural changes and the personal/emotional conflicts that can lead them to lose interest, distract themselves and develop a negative sense of the self but also the subject and – more in general – their learning journey. During this presentation, I’d like to talk about 3/5 different CAT tools that can be used in the language class (any language) and can help both teachers and students to approach language learning in a creative and unique way.

These tools promote students-teacher connection and, through creative arts such as drawing, photography, storytelling, dramatisation, encourage the students and the teacher to work on different skills: linguistics, emotional, creative, communicative and social.
